Our Story

Real people. We are a small team based in New York who built Polynae because we were the customer first, the one cycling through expensive routines that kept failing. There is no parent conglomerate behind this brand and no warehouse of generic formulas with a new label on them.

Every product we sell is something we formulated with a specific mechanism in mind. If you ever want to know why a particular active is in a formula or what it is supposed to do, you can ask us, and we will give you a straight answer.

You probably should not trust any brand on its word alone, including us. What we ask is that you look at the ingredient lists, read what the research says about PDRN and collagen-supporting peptides, and hold us to the mechanism we describe. If the explanation of how something works holds up under scrutiny, that is more useful than a brand name you recognize from a department store counter.

We built Polynae for customers who read labels and ask questions. That is the kind of accountability we are comfortable with.

Most K-beauty products sell an aesthetic, glass skin, the ten-step ritual, the viral finish. We are not dismissing that. But the customers we formulate for have already been through those cycles. They bought the trendy balm and got clogged pores. They layered eight products and still woke up with tight, dehydrated skin. They want to know what an active does at the barrier level before they add it to their routine, not after.

Polynae is built on actives, primarily PDRN and collagen-stimulating peptides, with published science behind them, in concentrations where the science actually shows an effect. That is a narrower, less photogenic pitch than most brands make. It is also the one we can stand behind.

We have been exactly there, spending real money on clinical-grade brands and ending up with cystic acne, or trying chemical peel rotations that cleared things up for three weeks before the PIH came back. The pattern we kept running into was that most products address a symptom without touching the underlying barrier or collagen-rebuilding process. PDRN works differently: it supports the skin's own repair cycle rather than just treating what is visible at the surface.

We cannot promise your skin will respond the way ours did, skin is not uniform and we would never tell you otherwise. What we can tell you is the mechanism we are working with, and we think that is worth more than a before-and-after photo we picked to make the product look good.

Our formulas are designed to work for skin that has already been sensitized, the kind that has been through aggressive AHA rotations, over-layered actives, or products that caused unexpected breakouts. PDRN supports barrier repair rather than stripping or resurfacing, which means it is generally well-tolerated even when skin is in recovery.

That said, reactive skin is reactive for specific reasons that vary from person to person. We always recommend patch testing before full use, and if you have a particular sensitivity or are using a prescription retinoid like tretinoin, reach out before you layer anything new.
